Mike says the sooner you apply (on the website linked above), the sooner you're eligible
Commissioner Merit McCrea emphasizes that each week is a fuel-burning week so getting on this with haste is in your best interest
APCD does not make the rules, CARB does, and APCD is there to help
APCD is funded through Carl Moyer partially, as well as through the Community Air Protection Program (which is all from the state)
Commissioner Suzanne Cohen asks if they can table at events like the nautical swap meet for example?
Mike says they haven't done that yet and just do flyers at the marinas now but are interested in being more publicly engaged in the future
Commissioner Ford asks what the application process is like?
Mike says it can be difficult especially for anyone who is not used to filling out online applications/being on a computer in general, but anyone who is having technical difficulty can reach out to him for help; They want to be of assistance any way they can and encourage outreach wherever appropriate
Commissioner Mike Nelson brings up the "Blue Whales Blue Sky Initiative" and Mike responds that his colleague Tim Maestro is the expert on that and if anyone is interested they can reach out to Mike for Tim's contact info
