The Santa Barbara Ocean Collective (SBOC) supports the development of the ‘blue economy’ for the Santa Barbara Channel and Central Coast and creates a new generation of ocean entrepreneurs, stewards, and cultural practitioners.
Goals
Training and job creation for Santa Barbara locals to access opportunities in the Blue Economy
Educate and engage the local community through outreach events.
Empower and assist fishermen, boaters, marine entrepreneurs, and businesses by providing training, facilities, and collaborative opportunities.
Promote responsible stewardship, conservation, and enjoyment of our shores, harbors, and waterways.
Partner with local organizations, government agencies, schools, and other stakeholders to advance a thriving ocean economy and ecosystem.
Acquire and develop a dedicated Ocean Collective resource center to serve as a hub for maritime education, recreation, innovation, and economic resilience along Santa Barbara's coast.
